Log truck overturns on I-95 at Fuller Warren Bridge in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, FL — A rollover crash involving a log truck last Thursday, January 11, closed part of Interstate 95 in Jacksonville, according to News4Jax.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the accident happened on the northbound highway just before the Fuller Warren Bridge, prompting an hours-kong closure.

A preliminary investigation shows that a loaded log truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Moments later, the truck rolled over, causing logs to fall and spread across all of northbound I-95.

Shortly after, an SUV collided with one of the fallen logs and became disabled on the roadway.

Authorities said only the log truck driver sustained minor injuries, but it was unclear whether the patient was taken to a hospital.

A hazmat crew was called to the site to attended to a fuel leak, but officials did not immediately indicate when the roadway was expected to clear.
