Left-turn crash with dump truck claims 1 life in Palm Beach Gardens

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – A 73-year-old woman tried to pursue a left turn and ended up colliding with a dump truck, leading her to succumb to fatal injuries Tuesday.

CBS 12 said this collision happened at the westbound PGA Boulevard and Beeline Highway intersection. When the woman, later identified as Margaret Zenga, turned left and hit the truck, the impact then caused the truck driver to unintentionally hit Zenga’s 2017 Mercedes. As a result, Zenga was either trapped or pinned and needed to be extricated

After Palm Beach Fire Rescue crews extricated Zenga, a medical helicopter then took her to  St. Mary’s Medical Center where she later passed away.

First responders did not say if the garbage truck driver was injured.

Additional details will be posted as it becomes available.
