LARGO, FL – Largo Police are investigating the circumstances behind what led the driver of a semi-truck to collide with a power pole Monday.
This collision happened at U.S. 19 near Bellair Road, according to WTSP.
Police also said the impact of the semi-truck collision had also led to property damage to seven cars. Upon arrival, first responders evaluated five people for injuries but did not send them to a hospital.
Officials did have to shut down the northbound lanes due to downed power lines. Closures were lifted by 2:39 p.m. thanks to aid from Duke Emergency personnel, who assisted in removing the downed power lines and semi-truck.
It is not immediately clear if the semi-driver was injured. Updates will be posted should more details surface.
