JASPER, FL – One driver’s life was claimed, and another motorist was hospitalized following a two-semi-truck head-on wreck near the Georgia and Florida state line Tuesday.
Florida Highway Patrol told WCTV that this crash happened around 3:45 a.m. in the vicinity of US Highway 129 and NW 86th Avenue. After arriving, first responders took one driver to Shands Live Oak and the other to a hospital in Georgia.
The one taken to Georgia was the one left in critical condition, while the other, sent to Shands, later perished at the medical facility.
FHP launched an investigation and has not described the events that led to this wreck but was able to confirm that the surviving occupant did not wear a seatbelt.
