MIDWAY, FL – A man from Georgia lost his life to a crash involving a commercial truck on I-10 Thursday, according to WCTV.
The events unraveled around 10:30 a.m. when the commercial truck driver struck the man from Georgia who appeared to have run out of a rest area along the freeway. The man was directly in front of the truck. The truck driver did his best to avoid a crash by pressing on his brakes. However, a collision proved to be inevitable.
EMS crews hurried to the crash site and treated the Georgia man at the scene before rushing him to a nearby hospital, where he died.
Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the details behind the fatal crash and has not announced any charges against the truck driver.
