Garbage truck accident downs power lines in NE Miami

MIAMI, FL – Residents and businesses in Miami’s Upper East Side experienced power outages as the result of a garbage truck crash last Monday, August 14th.

According to the Miami Herald, the truck collided with a utility pole at about 6:35 a.m. on Northeast 82nd Street near Biscayne Boulevard.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. However, this portion of NE 82nd St. was shut down for sometime afterward while crews worked to repair the downed power lines.

According to FPL’s Powertracker map, there were no power outages as of 12:50 p.m.
