MIAMI, FL – Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of two separate truck crashes that occurred near Miami International Airport around 6 a.m. Monday.
FHP told WSVN that both collisions took place at the State Road 836 and Le Jeune Road intersection. A box truck driver from the first crash was sent to Ryder Trauma Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after their truck overturned.
No injuries were reported in the second collision, which involved a truck, a trailer that jackknifed, and a car.
Due to the nature of both collisions, first responders had to shut down three lanes, including Northwest 27th Avenue, causing traffic delays to extend towards 17th Avenue. During these closures, drivers were redirected towards Northwest 37th Avenue. All closures have been lifted since.
