Fatal wreck with big rig caused when SUV runs stop sign in Immokalee 

IMMOKALEE, FL – An SUV driver failed to stop at a stop sign and drove through an intersection, striking a big rig, resulting in her death and another’s and injuring the truck driver and a child. 

NBC-2 said this deadly collision happened around midnight Wednesday at the SR-29 and Oil Well Road intersection, and the impact led both vehicles to overturn, resulting in an oil spill and the truck and SUV coming to rest in a grassy median. 

The SUV’s passenger side door sustained some damage, and one adult passenger, a 26-year-old woman, and the driver, a 52-year-old woman from Orlando, passed away at the scene. 

The four-year-old girl, also an SUV passenger, suffered life-threatening wounds, while the tractor-trailer driver sustained minor injuries. 

Florida Highway Patrol did not mention any hospital transportation in their report or comment on other events that took place during Wednesday’s crash.
