LEHIGH ACRES, FL – A person driving a truck failed to yield the right of way while turning left on SR-82, causing them to hit a second truck, which sent the second motorist to a hospital Friday.
When the two trucks collided on the highway near Bell Boulevard, it caused materials to spill onto the road, NBC-2 said. Once first responders arrived at the scene, they rushed the driver who was hit, a 37-year-old man from Cape Coral to a nearby hospital. As it stands, this motorist is currently recovering from serious wounds.
Florida Highway Patrol did not confirm whether the man making the left turn was cited for failing to yield, nor did they say if he was wounded or hospitalized. FHP started an investigation and has not released other information at this time.
