Failure to yield leads to fatal crash involving semi in Venice 

VENICE, FL – An 83-year-old man driving a Lexus SUV failed to yield to a trash truck, causing a crash that claimed his life Tuesday, WFLA said. 

The collision took place before 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of Tempest Harbor Loop and North River Road, and the impact caused the truck to hit the SUV’s driver’s side.

Florida Highway Patrol declared the elderly man deceased at the scene and confirmed the truck driver was unharmed.
