Driver dies as semi crashes, catches on fire in Santa Rosa Co. 

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, FL – A driver operating a semi-truck lost his life when he crashed his semi-truck, which caught on fire, in a wooded area off I-10 East Sunday.

This solo collision happened east of the Highway 87 exit, and WEARTV also reported that the impact trapped the driver.

Florida Highway Patrol shut down the area due to reasons pertaining to the smoke, safety concerns for the first responders, for the scene clearance and investigation.

No other details have been made available.
