Driver dies after car misses curve, hits parked semi in Bonita Springs 

BONITA SPRINGS, FL – A 33-year-old man had missed a curve on I-75, causing him to lose control of his car and then hit a parked semi-truck, resulting in his death Tuesday.

This crash occurred before 1 a.m. near mile marker 117 on the southbound lanes, according to WINK News. Florida Highway Patrol said that after the vehicles collided, the man, a Fort Myers resident, perished at the collision site.

At the time of the crash, the truck was stationary on an outside paved shoulder. It is not immediately clear if the truck motorist, a 45-year-old woman, a Cape Coral resident, was injured.

At the time of the reporting, traffic was moving steadily as drivers were traveling to escape Hurricane Melton.

It is unknown if weather conditions played a role in this wreck. FHP, who is investigating the circumstances behind this crash, has not provided additional information.
