Cement truck plows into Boca Raton canal, sending driver to hospital 

BOCA RATON, FL – A cement truck driver was hospitalized following a single-truck accident that happened off of Florida’s Turnpike Thursday.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue told WPTV that the truck accident happened before 6:30 a.m. when the driver lost control of their cement truck while driving on Florida’s Turnpike before crashing into the canal.

Fire crews and troopers hurried to the scene and found that the truck submerged five to 10 feet underwater. First responders rescued the driver and issued them a trauma alert prior to taking them to a hospital.

Florida Highway Patrol will be leading the investigation. Updates will be added after our team learns more.
