Beer truck rollover crash in Ruskin sends man to hospital

RUSKIN, FL – A semi-truck front cab split open, leading the truck to crash and rollover, causing many beer cans to spill, and injuring its driver, a 53-year-old man, Thursday.

Florida Highway Patrol told FOX 13 News that around 2:30 a.m., the Doral man tried to exit off I-75 South prior to the front cab splitting and the crash. Ambulance personnel were summoned to the scene and immediately rushed the man to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

FHP has not confirmed the number of beer cans that spilled or reported how long crews had to close the area to clean up the mess. Troopers are actively working to find out more about the events that led to the crash.

Any new details will be provided in an updated news blog post.
