3 firefighters, several others hurt in train vs. fire rescue truck crash in Delray Beach

DELRAY BEACH, FL – Three firefighters were among several patients rushed to a hospital Saturday, December 28, following a Delray Beach crash involving a Brightline passenger train and a fire rescue truck, reports NBC News.

The wreck took place on East Atlantic Avenue and Railroad Avenue at about 10:45 a.m.

According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue officials, 12 people from the train suffered minor injuries and had to be taken to a local hospital. Of the dozen patients, three were confirmed to be firefighters listed in stable condition.

While the events leading up to the accident have not been disclosed, a section of the roadway was shut down to accommodate an investigation.
