2 train passengers hurt in fiery crash with semi in Indiantown

INDIANTOWN, FL – Two train passengers sustained minor wounds when a Brightline train and semi collided, causing the truck to catch fire Thursday. 

This collision happened after 10 a.m. in the vicinity of Southwest Warfield Boulevard and Southwest Amaryllis Avenue, according to TC Palm

Martin County Fire Rescue revealed the fire did not spread to the train or tracks, and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said two people from the truck refused medical treatment on-site but did not confirm if they sustained wounds. 

At the time of the crash, there were 70 train passengers on board and 14 crew members. The train was coming from Miami and had a “delayed” status following the collision, and no new arrival time was listed at the time of this writing.
