LAKE CITY, FL – Two semi-truck drivers were taken to a hospital after their semi-trucks collided on I-75 South, leading one to catch on fire Wednesday.
Florida Highway Patrol told WCJB the events unfolded around 3 a.m. when one semi-truck driver rear-ended the second semi parked on the interstate’s shoulder. The impact of this wreck caused the stationary semi to roll into a ditch and burst into flames.
Columbia County Fire Rescue was also summoned to the scene and successfully extinguished the flames.
Troopers did not comment on the kind of injuries the drivers sustained or mentioned the current physical conditions of the two.
