PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL — Two people were rushed to a hospital Friday afternoon following a crash involving a semi-truck on Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach, reports CBS12.
The accident happened on the westbound side of Southern Boulevard approaching the North Haverhill Road exit.
While the events leading up to the wreck have not been disclosed, footage captured at the scene indicates significant damage to the front-end of an SUV and some damage to the trailer of a semi-truck, which came to rest a little further ahead.
Responding crews had to extricate two people from the wreckage, and both patients were ultimately rushed, one flown by TraumaHawk helicopter, to area trauma centers. A third patient declined transport.
All lanes in the area were blocked off during the emergency response and investigation, which remains in progress with the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.
