PASCO COUNTY, FL – Two people passed away, and four were injured in a multi-vehicle collision caused by speeding that involved a fire engine truck Wednesday night.
ABC Action News said the first collision took place on southbound Little Road. A Dodge Ram pickup truck was speeding and hit a Toyota 4 Runner, pursuing a turn. The impact caused the Toyota SUV to overturn and catch fire. The serious collision warranted a response from Pasco County Fire Rescue. Fire crews were on their way to respond to the wreck when they were struck by a Honda pickup truck driver traveling northbound who was also speeding.
The impact of the first accident claimed the lives of the Toyota driver and one Toyota passenger and left the Dodge Ram driver and passenger in serious condition.
The impact of the second collision led the fire truck engine operator to sustain minor wounds and the Honda driver with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
The Toyota passenger, Dodge Ram driver, and Honda motorist were all transported to area hospitals for treatment.
