DADE CITY, FL – A GMC Sierra pickup truck driver lost his life, and a semi-truck driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries after a head-on collision Friday.
Florida Highway Patrol told WFLA that the pickup truck driver was traveling south on U.S. 301 north when he hit the tractor-trailer head-on.
The pickup truck motorist’s identity was undisclosed, while the truck driver was identified as a 41-year-old man from Haines City.
Photos from the Florida Highway Patrol showed that the pickup truck was significantly damaged. The tractor-trailer, affiliated with Howie’s Pizza, sustained serious damage to its front cab.
Troopers have not confirmed why the pickup truck driver was driving the way.
