DADE CITY, FL – A three-vehicle collision on I-75 South caused a semi-truck to flip over and sent one person to a hospital Tuesday.
According to Fox 13 News, the events unfolded before 6 a.m. when the driver of a Toyota Camry rear-ended a Dodge Ram pickup truck with an attached trailer. A short time later, a semi-truck slammed into the Toyota and then crashed into a guardrail and flipped over.
The semi-truck operator and pickup truck driver were uninjured, while the Toyota Camry motorist was sent to a medical facility. First responders did not specify what kind of injuries the car driver sustained. However, they indicated that they were in non-critical condition.
Florida Highway Patrol and transportation personnel issued a several-hour-long closure. By 1:30 p.m., officials reopened the left lane to accommodate the flow of traffic.
FHP is investigating the details of the multi-vehicle collision.
