FT. MYERS, FL – One driver was killed and multiple individuals were injured in a collision involving a flatbed truck, a tractor-trailer, and multiple SUVs in southeast Fort Myers on last Wednesday.
According to a report by WINK, crash occurred in the southbound lanes of I-75 near Colonial Boulevard at about 3:45 p.m.
First responder say a tractor-trailer rear-ended a flatbed truck, causing the dump truck to collide with the SUV in front of it. The force of the impact sent the first SUV crashing into the second, and debris from the crash struck the third SUV.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 25-year-old Hialeah man, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. At least two additional victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The authorities have cleared the scene, reopening all lanes to traffic. However, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
