BUSHNELL, FL – One man died and a 37-year-old woman was injured as a result of a collision between a car and a semi-truck Friday, according to Click Orlando.
The collision happened after 6 a.m. on C.R. 48. Preliminary details show that a 70-year-old man driving a Toyota Camry car had drifted from his eastbound lane and went into a westbound lane and crashed into a semi-truck.
Florida Highway Patrol said the car and truck collided nearly head-on, and the 70-year-old man from Dade City succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
EMS crews rushed to the scene and transported the car passenger, the 37-year-old woman from Dade City, to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The truck driver, identified as a 42-year-old man from Lehigh Acres, was unharmed.
