FRESNO, CA – A multi-vehicle collision on Highway 99 involving a semi truck claimed one life and left several others injured on Sunday morning, KSEE24 reports.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 between North Avenue and Cedar Avenue around 9:15 am.
It’s believed the collision occurred when vehicles slowed down in the number one and two lanes, likely due to heavy fog, and vehicles behind them collided with them.
Several people were transported to a nearby hospital with minor to moderate injuries. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
