WINSLOW, AR – A tractor-trailer crashed into the Bobby Harper Tunnel on I-49, injuring its driver Tuesday, 40/29 News reports.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation said the single-truck collision happened before 6 a.m. on the southbound lanes. DOT crews and Arkansas State Police were quick to arrive at the scene. By 7:38 a.m., emergency officials had blocked off all lanes, and traffic was able to proceed on the shoulder.
By 8 a.m., authorities were able to remove the impacted truck from the accident site. All lanes have reopened since.
At this time, police have not disclosed the exact cause of the crash or listed the extent of injuries the driver sustained.
