Semi hits Ozark overpass, claiming life of driver, passenger 

OZARK, AR – A driver and a passenger of a 2024 Kenworth semi-truck lost their lives after they crashed their truck at a Pleasant View overpass Sunday. 

According to 5NewsOnline, the events of this crash unfolded before 5 a.m., when the driver, identified as David B. Jernigan Jr., lost control of the truck on I-40 West prior to striking the bridge. 

Jernigan and the passenger with him, Loren B. Smallwood, North Carolina residents, both succumbed to fatal wounds. 

No other vehicles were reported in this collision. Arkansas State Police, who responded to the scene, have not released other information.
