BENTON COUNTY, AR – A 49-year-old Bentonville resident died Wednesday, August 14, after his motorcycle collided with a semi-truck in Centerton, according to 5 News.
The fatal accident unfolded on a stretch of State Highway 72 shortly after 6:30 p.m.
Very few details have been disclosed as of this writing, but the Arkansas Department of Public Safety said the victim was operating a motorcycle eastbound on the highway. At one point, for reasons still being investigated, the bike hit an oncoming semi, killing the rider.
The crash report released from the DPS indicated that the driver of the semi was not injured. Officials also described weather conditions at the time to be “clear and dry.”
It’s unclear whether any charges or citations are anticipated.
