One Killed, Others Injured in Arizona Septic Truck Collision

SONOITA, AZ – A man was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle collision involving a septic truck on State Route 83 Tuesday morning, 13 News reports.

According to authorities, the collision occurred near Santa Rita Road around 7:00 am. A Nissan passenger vehicle attempted to pass another vehicle and collided head-on with the septic truck.

The driver of the Nissan, 33-year-old Kevin McCarthy, was killed. Two passengers were hospitalized with unknown injuries. The truck driver was treated and released.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said McCarthy was in a legal passing zone when the accident occurred.
