Tractor-trailer wreck closes parts of AL-79 in Marshall County

MARSHALL COUNTY, AL — A big rig was involved in a crash with another vehicle early Friday on State Highway 79 near Scottsboro, reports WAFF.

The accident happened on at Pine Island Circle at around 1:30 a.m.

Details remain limited, but multiple area agencies, including the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Waterfront Volunteer Fire Department, North Alabama Electric Cooperative, and ALEA, were dispatched to the scene.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, both northbound and southbound sections of AL-79 were shut down as crews performed utility work.
