Semi crash on US-231 between Ozark and Dothan proves fatal

DALE CO., AL – A fatality has been reported in connection to a semi crash that happened Thursday along the highway in Dale County, reports Wiregrass Daily News.

Emergency teams responded to a single-vehicle collision around 6:30 a.m. on US-231 northbound between Ozark and Dothan.

Police haven’t yet shared any details about the cause of the accident. They say the big rig spilled iron oxide onto the highway.

The truck driver, who has not yet been named by authorities, died at the scene of the crash.

Officials closed the northbound side of the highway while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
