NEAR PRATTVILLE, AL – When a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup truck and a commercial fuel truck collided head-on, the large truck caught on fire, killing the pickup truck driver Friday.
This collision happened on Alabama 14, five miles west of Prattville, according to AL. When the vehicles made contact, the commercial truck driver, a Montgomery man, managed to escape the truck and injuries in the process, while the pickup truck succumbed to fatal wounds.
Alabama Highway Patrol confirmed the pickup truck driver, identified as 33-year-old Karlos Golson, Jr., did not wear a seatbelt.
Troopers have not revealed the reasoning behind the head-on crash.
