Jackknifed tractor-trailer, fuel leak reported on I-65 in Gardendale

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A semi-truck jackknifed Tuesday morning on Interstate 65 in Gardendale, causing a fuel leak, reports WVTM13.

The incident took place shortly before 8:00 a.m., prompting a response from the Gardendale Fire Department and hazmat crews.

At this time, officials have not disclosed a sequence of events leading up to the accident, but the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency indicated that icy and severe weather conditions across the region have caused a number of crashes.
