MOBILE, AL – A driver of a Freightliner truck collided with a 2020 Ford Edge, leading the semi to collide head-on with a 2017 Kia Sportage, claiming the Kia driver’s life Sunday.
This multi-vehicle collision happened after 6 a.m. on Alabama 158 near milepost 4, according to Fox10TV. The impact of this wreck led the Kia driver, 44-year-old Yancy David Baker (who did not wear a safety device), to be thrown from his car, leading him to suffer fatal wounds.
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency did not specify if the Freightliner Cascadia, 33-year-old Darrell Charles Basset Jr., from Mobile, and if the Ford Edge driver, 26-year-old Nolan Ryan Terry from Crawfordville, FL, were injured.
Troopers started an investigation and have not released other information at this time.
