Georgia man, 70, killed in truck accident on I-59 in Alabama

ETOWAH CO., AL – A truck driver from Georgia was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Atalla on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a report by AL.com, the crash occurred on I-59 about five miles north of the US-431 interchange at about 2:20 p.m.

State Troopers say 70-year-old Kester Bruton was driving a Volvo tractor-trailer when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle drifted off the side of the highway and struck a tree.

Bruton suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
