Fiery semi crash with train in Linden claims man’s life

LINDEN, AL – A man driving a 2015 Volvo semi-truck collided with a train on Alabama Highway 28, causing the truck to catch on fire and resulting in his death Friday.

The Tuscaloosa Thread said the deadly wreck happened around 11:30 a.m., and the truck driver, who was later identified as Tristan G. Harris, a 37-year-old from Marion, succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency revealed Harris did not wear a seatbelt, which could have contributed to those fatal wounds.

Officials started an investigation but have not revealed other details, including who was at fault for the crash, at this time.
