MARION COUNTY, AL – An ambulance took a driver to a hospital after their truck crashed and spilled more than 5,500 gallons of tar on I-22 Monday.
This collision occurred around 4:30 a.m. near Hamilton, according to WVTM13. Among the first responders, a Georgia Hazmat crew was also summoned to the scene to assist with the clean-up process.
Emergency crews closed I-22 starting at mile marker 22 and ending at milepost 25. Drivers approaching the area are asked to seek alternative routes if possible.
