Driver airlifted following 18-wheeler wreck on AL-20 in Lawrence County

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL — One person was hospitalized after a big rig they were driving crashed on State Highway 20 near west Hillsboro, according to WAAY 31 ABC.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said the collision took place on the eastbound lanes of AL-20 near mile marker 53 at around 2:00 a.m.

Officials did not indicate what may have led up to the crash, but first responders had the driver flown to Huntsville Hospital. No other information regarding the patient’s condition has been disclosed.

All westbound lanes of AL-20 were shut down in the area during the emergency response and investigation.
