Big rig collision closes lane on I-85 NB in west Tuskegee

MACON COUNTY, AL — Alabama Law Enforcement Agency troopers responded to a tractor-trailer crash Saturday morning on Interstate 85 in west Tuskegee, according to 12 WSFA.

The collision unfolded on the northbound lanes near mile marker 32, just before Tuskegee-Franklin Road (Alabama State Highway 49). ALEA troopers received a report about the single-vehicle incident at around 9:35 a.m.

While officials have not specified the events leading up to the crash, the outside northbound lane of I-85 was shut down for about 11 hours, suggesting a more involved emergency response.

By 8:30 p.m., crews had cleared out of the area and all travel lanes were announced reopened.

A photo taken at the crash site shows the semi on its side, but it’s unclear whether the driver or anyone else was seriously hurt.
