BIRMINGHAM, AL — Three people were injured last Friday afternoon, March 8, as a result of a crash involving a U-Haul truck at the parking deck of a southeast Birmingham apartment complex, reports CBS 42.
The accident happened at Cortland Vesta Apartments, off of Highland Avenue. CBS 42 first reported on the event at about 2:32 p.m.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue officials indicated that at least three people, including the driver, were inside a U-Haul when it collided with a structural column at the complex’s parking deck.
First responders transported two passengers to local hospitals. Following assistance from Weil Wrecker personnel, the driver was extricated from the vehicle and then also transported to an area hospital.
It’s unclear what led up to the collision, but officials said all three patients were last listed in stable condition.
