MADISON CO., TN – A five-vehicle crash involving several semi-trucks in Madison County last Monday claimed the life of two drivers and left a third person injured.
According to WBBJ, the incident took place at about 2:45 p.m. on I-40 near Exit 68 to Providence Road.
Witnesses told troopers that an eastbound semi-truck blew a tire and veered into the oncoming lanes, where it slammed into an SUV and another semi-truck that were headed west. Subsequently, another semi-truck an a sedan were involved in the crash.
The driver of the SUV, 53, and one of the semi-tucks, 23, each suffered fatal injuries in the crash. At least one additional victim was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
