Semi-Truck Accident Shuts Down I-24 in Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, TN – A semi-truck accident caused major delays on I-24 in Rutherford County Tuesday morning, WSMV 4 reports.

The accident occurred in the westbound lanes of I-24 just before the South Church Street Exit. The semi-truck was stretched across all lanes and leaking diesel.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation reports that the semi was hauling 30,000 pounds of freight and spilled around 70 gallons of fuel.

Hazmat crews have been called in to clean up the spill. No injuries have been reported.
