Fiery, Fatal Tractor Trailer Accident Shuts Down I-35 in La Salle, Texas

LA SALLE, TX – At least one person died in a fiery collision involving a pickup truck and a tractor trailer on I-35 late Monday afternoon, KGNS News reports.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-35 near mile marker 55 just before 3:52 pm.

When law enforcement arrived, the pickup truck was engulfed in flames, as was part of the tractor-trailer. Initial investigations indicate that the pickup rear-ended the tractor-trailer, but no cause has been officially determined as of publication.

It’s unclear how many passengers were in the pickup truck at the time of the accident. The tractor-trailer driver was treated for minor injuries.
