HAMPTON, VA – Two truck drivers were sent to Riverside Regional Hospital as a result of two separate truck accidents that occurred on Interstate 64 on Tuesday.
According to 13NewsNow, the first crash happened around 7 a.m. on I-64 West at the Mercury Boulevard exit. The truck driver had lost control of their vehicle, causing it to overturn.
The second truck collision occurred before 10 a.m. This driver also crashed into an embankment and caused glass from this truck to spill out.
The first driver, who was charged, was left with non-life-threatening injuries. Officials did not specify the physical condition of the second driver.
Officials shut down the exit ramp, and closures were still active by 11:30 a.m.
Authorities did not say if slick road conditions played a role in these crashes. Updates will be added after our team learns more.
