Semi veers off I-240 in Memphis, delaying traffic near airport

MEMPHIS, TN – Traffic on I-240 near Memphis International Airport was backed up yesterday after a semi-truck veered off the roadway and was left dangling across an embankment.

Action News 5 reports that the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. on August 25 on I-240 near Airways Boulevard. The crash blocked two westbound lanes, and photos taken by a nearby traffic camera show bumper-to-bumper traffic in the area.

We do not know at this time what caused the driver to lose control or whether anyone was injured. Expect further updates as they become available.
