2 hurt after box truck crashes head-on into big rig in Franklin

FRANKLIN, TN – Two people were left with non-life-threatening injuries after a box truck crashed into a big rig head-on on the Lewisburg Pike on Tuesday.

According to the Williamson Herald, the head-on collision took place between Bethesda Road and Harpeth-Peytonsville Road, and was between a 19-foot box truck and a big rig hauling sod. The impact of the crash caused one of the trucks to flip over and land on its side.

Fuel spilled from one of the trucks as well, prompting Williamson County Emergency Management Agency and deputies to shut down the Lewisburg Pike for the majority of the day.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office did not say whether the injured individuals were taken to a hospital, and did not specify what truck they were traveling in.

As of this writing, no charges have been announced.
