3 hospitalized after crash caused by loose truck tire in Lithia Springs 

LITHIA SPRINGS, GA – A trash truck driver had a front tire failure, which led to a crash that sent two adults and a 10-year-old child to a hospital Monday.

Georgia State Patrol told WSBTV that the truck driver was going west on I-20 East when the truck experienced a tire failure and drifted out of its lane, crashing into three vehicles. The impact caused one of them to overturn.

An eyewitness told the source that one injured adult was a woman, and the 10-year-old child with her was her son. Their physical conditions are unknown. However, GSP confirmed that the child was taken to Scottish Rite Hospital, and the adults were taken to Scottish Rite Hospital.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. and called for closures that lasted until after 5 p.m.

The exact cause of the crash has not been revealed.
