Driver extricated from big rig, hospitalized after Capital Beltway crash 

ROCKVILLE, MD – A big rig driver was extricated from their truck and then taken to a hospital following a collision on the Capital Beltway last Thursday.

The crash, reported around 1 a.m., happened after the truck driver crashed into a bridge, causing the truck to hang over a portion of the bridge and spill numerous pounds of mushrooms and fuel from the truck.

The driver was left with non-life-threatening injuries. Officials had to close all lanes for several hours and finally reopened them around 11 a.m.
