2 injured in truck, semi-trailer collision in Amarillo 

AMARILLO, TX – Two people were injured in a collision between a truck and a truck tractor towing a semi-trailer that happened on U.S. 287 Tuesday.

The Texas Department of Public Safety told News Channel 10 that the impact of the collision left the truck passenger with minor injuries, the truck driver with life-threatening injuries, and the semi-driver uninjured.

Medical helicopter personnel airlifted the truck driver to a hospital for the treatment of their serious injuries.

Texas Department of Transportation and other officials stayed behind and shut down southbound U.S. 287 along I-40 for the scene clean-up process.

Authorities have not specified what contributed to the crash or said if anyone would be cited or charged. Updates will be added after our team learns more.
