KISSIMIEE, FL – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the details behind a fiery tractor-trailer accident that happened on I-4 West Monday.
FHP told WFLA that the tractor-trailer caught on fire after colliding with a guardrail. Troopers said a Ford Focus was also involved in the crash but did not specify what role this vehicle played in the accident. Fire crews were quick to respond to the scene and shut down the westbound and eastbound directions to extinguish the flames and for the overall clean-up process.
At this time, all lanes continue to remain shut down. Troopers have not specified a time estimate regarding when this portion of the interstate will reopen. In the meantime, drivers may want to consider avoiding the area or seeking alternative routes until safe road conditions are restored.
No injuries were reported at this time.
