First responders called to NW Austin pin-in collision with truck

NORTHWEST AUSTIN, TX – Local first responders were summoned to the scene of a pin-in collision between a truck and a vehicle on U.S. 183 Friday.

The details behind the crash remain scarce. However, according to a photo reposted by KXAN, it seems that the vehicle and truck crashed, which caused the vehicle to be wedged underneath the truck.

Austin fire crews and Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services were the primary emergency personnel to respond to the scene. It appeared that fire crews were able to stabilize the vehicle and remove it from underneath.

Firefighters did not specify if they had to extricate anyone inside the wedged vehicle but did confirm that no one was injured. ATCEMS’ services were called off once officials confirmed no one was hurt.

The collision happened before 10 a.m. and prompted officials, including Texas Department of Transportation crews, to shut down four northbound lanes, which included the shoulder.

The scene took a few hours to clear before all lanes reopened.
